So......why play futsal?
Futsal is a fabulous, fast attacking and skillful game which origianted in South America. Futsal enables players to play in a smaller area indoors and with less team mates. Playing in this type of envrionment encourages players to become more technichally proficient by having more time on the ball thus having more touches.
Having more time on the ball and more touches enhances a players ball control, descision making capeabilites and game intelligence ie. knowing where to be (positionally) and what to do (tactically) in relation to where the ball is on the pitch in any moment.
The rules in Futsal promotes faster play, quicker descision making and overall a more attacking and enjoyable game! Some rules include, 4 second restarts when the ball goes out of play, kick ins instead of throw ins , if the ball is not played within 4 seconds the ball goes to the other team! Having less backpass options available to your goalkeeper also means players have to play forward to the goal! Playing with a heavier and smaller ball, a futsal ball tends to remain more on the ground. This can improve players footwork - first touch and ball control. This is because it is more difficult to control a size 3 or 4 ball than a regular size 5 in football. Playing on an indoor pitch, the ball moves faster along the surface so players have to move more also which aids phsyical fitness..their is no hiding in futsal!
Futsal has aided the development of professional football players such as Leo Mess, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo , Pele , Maradonna and many many more! Be apart of it!
